Visa Information

China has implemented visa-free entry policies for citizens of certain countries, allowing them to enter China without a visa for specific periods. These policies are generally divided into several categories:

Long-Term Visa-Free Entry:

Citizens of countries such as Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Armenia, and San Marino can enter China visa-free for stays up to 90 days.

Citizens of Mauritius can stay visa-free for up to 60 days.

Citizens of countries including Seychelles, Bahamas, Fiji, Grenada, Tonga, Serbia, Barbados, the United Arab Emirates, Belarus, Qatar, Suriname, Dominica, Maldives, Kazakhstan, Antigua and Barbuda, Singapore, Thailand, Georgia, Ecuador, Brunei, Solomon Islands, and Mongolia (as they issue only official passports, which are considered visa-free for Mongolian citizens) can stay visa-free for up to 30 days.

Temporary Visa-Free Entry for Specific Countries:

From November 30, 2024, to December 31, 2025, citizens of 38 countries, including Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Malta, Estonia, Latvia, and Japan, can enter China visa-free for stays not exceeding 30 days for business, tourism, family visits, exchanges, or transit.

From July 1, 2024, to December 31, 2025, citizens of New Zealand, Australia, and Poland can enter China visa-free for stays not exceeding 15 days for similar purposes.

China's transit visa policy allows citizens of certain countries to enter China without a visa for transit purposes, provided they meet specific conditions:

240-Hour Transit Visa-Free Stay:

Citizens of 54 countries, including Russia, Brazil, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, and others, can enter China visa-free for stays not exceeding 240 hours (10 days) when transiting through China to a third country. They must hold valid international travel documents, confirmed onward tickets within 240 hours, and fill out an entry card. This policy applies to 60 designated opening ports in 24 provinces and municipalities.

24-Hour Transit Visa-Free Stay:

Foreign passport holders who meet specific conditions can transit through any international airport in China visa-free for 24 hours.

They must hold confirmed tickets to a third country within 24 hours and leave China within that timeframe. This policy applies to all nationalities, except for citizens of certain Muslim countries transiting through Urumqi Diwopu International Airport and Syrian citizens transiting through Guangzhou Baiyun Airport, who require visas.

China has designated multiple entry and exit ports for transit visas, including but not limited to:

Airports: Beijing Capital International Airport, Shanghai Pudong International Airport, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, etc.

Seaports: Shanghai Port, Tianjin Port, Qingdao Port, etc.

Land Ports: Some border crossings with neighboring countries.

The specific list of designated entry and exit ports may vary over time, and travelers should check the latest information from Chinese embassies or consulates or relevant Chinese authorities before traveling.

In summary, China's visa-free and transit visa policies offer convenience for citizens of many countries to enter China for tourism, business, or transit purposes. However, travelers should always check the latest visa requirements and regulations before traveling to ensure they meet all conditions for visa-free or transit visa entry.
